Through this experience, we invite you to take part in an exciting new adventure: a course in maneuvering and seamanship among the Aeolian Islands with the guidance of a great offshore sailing expert. We will sail among the Mediterranean's most beautiful volcanic islands to learn basic notions fundamental to a first approach to boating: sailing, maneuvering and correct terminology, different gaits and sail trim, meteorology and wind direction, as well as safety on board and crew and galley management. In a convivial and joyful atmosphere, participants will become a real close-knit crew by actively participating in shipboard life and experiencing growth and learning. You will set sail from the Marina of Milazzo on Friday morning to set course for the Aeolian Islands, and right from the start an enchanting scenery will open up before the experienced sailors. During the weekend you will cook on the boat and discover the beauty of a seafaring life surrounded by nature. Overnight stay on Friday and Saturday in roadstead or ports in the Islands depending on weather conditions and return Sunday afternoon to Milazzo with final briefing. The sailboat is an Elan 43, a solid and safe boat suitable for an introductory sailing course. The boat has undergone a total refit since 2018 in both the deck and its mechanical and electrical parts. Our captain is Michele Sighel, who has accumulated considerable experience over the years: he has participated in international competitions such as the Arc in 2018 and with Volvo 70 Maserati for over 75,000 miles in various roles, he has been a rigger for major shipyards and maxi yachts, a rigger for the Vespucci, and a skipper between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
